THE CLOUDS TRUST (Reg. Charity 1064289)
The Clouds Trust supports the right of individuals with cancer, or any other degenerative disease, to take charge of their own health care treatment and to retain their right to self-administer any remedy which helps, and does no harm, alongside any conventional treatment they wish to use. It investigates the use, efficacy and cost of complementary medicines and therapies, in conjunction with conventional medical practices – and particularly, in relation to cancer.

The Clouds Trust researches, and supplies (for a donation) Essiac Tea, which is recorded as having positive remedial action, with no harmful side effects, when use by people with cancer and other degenerative diseases. The Clouds Trust also provides a helpline, newsletters, a counselling service and twice yearly seminars.

Patients can be referred by their GP, oncologist or senior nurse specialist. The Bristol Homoeopathic Hospital is part of the NHS and provides an integrated service. Patients are usually given a 45-60 minute consultation to individualise the homoeopathic remedy given. The hospital also offers Iscador, which is a herbal preparation of mistletoe. It has been shown to stimulate the immune system and improve symptom control during chemotherapy, and other conventional treatments. Although the hospital does not advise on other therapies for cancer, the Bristol Cancer Help Centre encourages people to explore various avenues of support.

The Glasgow Homoeopathic Hospital is housed in the grounds of Gartnavel Hospital, and was designed as a calm and healing space for patients. It has a fifteen-bedded ward, physiotherapy and an occupational therapy department. It also has an outpatient department with five consulting rooms, a homoeopathic dispensary and a teaching faculty. All of the medical staff are experienced in both conventional medicine and Homoeopathy. They aim to integrate the best of complementary medicine with the best of orthodoxy.

As well as Homoeopathy, the hospital can offer Iscador therapy for some cancer patients. It is part of the NHS. A letter of referral is required from the patient’s GP or hospital consultant.
